Sabaragamuwa Maha Saman Devalaya Perahara (23-09-2015 to 28-09-2015)
Saman devala peraheras inkeep with traditions and customs. Dance and Festivity. After the final night perahera the water cutting ceremony takes place at the Rathmal Ella river. River boats are taken in upstream in procession and the holy water brought back in gay procession to wind up the annual Saman Devala festival.


  Tourist Information Centres
The Ministry of Tourism, Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council has launched two tourist information centres in Kegalle and Ratnapura. The Kegalle District tourism information centre is located in Kuweni Handicraft Building, near Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. Ratnapura District tourism information centre is located at Ratnapura National Museum premises.


  New Access to Udawalawe National Park (West)
  A new access from Weligepola, Handagiriya to the Udawalawe National Park (West) is being developed by the Ministry of Tourism of the Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council (SPC) in collaboration with the Dept. of Wildlife Conservation. Hon Athula Rahubaddha, the Minister of Tourism, SPC and other relevant officers visited the site on May 19, 2012 to review the progress of development. The Minister Rahubaddha advised to take necessary steps to complete the all construction work and open it for visitors as soon as possible. This development will provide an outstanding experience to wildlife lovers and they will also get the opportunity to visit some lesser-known archaeological sites which are scattered over the area
